Just The Facts and Nothing But The Facts

Just having a web site will not guarantee your company a listing in the Forbes 500 list.

You must look at your web site as just another means of advertising. If you currently advertise in your local newspaper, you will have to continue, but you may be able, after a few months, to reduce the frequency of those ads.

If you currently advertise on radio or t.v. or in newspapers or mail out flyers to your current customers, you'll probably still have to continue to do so, at least for a few months.

You must let your current and future customers know about your new and exciting web site.

This can be as simple as reprinting your business cards or putting a sign up in your store.

A Word About Search Engines

No One, REPEAT, No One can guarantee you top placement on search engines, without spreading lots and lots of cash.

There is no "magic software" to do this.

If there was, every web designer in the World would have it and thus to remain in the top, your site would have to be re-submitted every ten minutes, if not more often.

Face the facts and don't believe anyone that tells you different.

There is a way to help your site in gaining higher ranks. This is called "meta-tags". Alot of search engines (but not all) index by keywords placed into the meta-tags. When I design a new web site I always include meta-tags at no additional cost. Some companies charge extra for this service. Also, the keywords placed into these meta-tags must be carefully chosen or they will only harm your chances of being indexed bythe search engines.

Remember...Get the word out about your new web site and keep it current. Nothing will run your potential customers off to your internet competitors quicker than dead or out-dated links or pricing.
